Museums for All is an initiative that allows individuals and families receiving food assistance (SNAP EBT - Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Electronic Benefit Transfer) to gain free or reduced admission to over 1,200 museums across the United States. The Museums for All program has an impressive impact by opening doors to cultural experiences for many who might otherwise not have the opportunity to explore museums, botanical gardens, and arboretums. Everyone deserves access to nature, art, history, and science, and Museums for All plays a crucial role in making that happen. Fostering Life-Long Connections with Nature and Culture Botanical gardens and arboretums are havens for nature lovers, offering vibrant displays of flora, serene landscapes, and a chance to connect with the natural world. But for many, the cost of admission can be a barrier, limiting access to these enriching spaces. The Museums for All EBT program bridges this gap, offering free or reduced entry to EBT cardholders, opening doors to a world of botanical wonder. Why Botanical Gardens Are a Perfect Fit for Museums for All Botanical gardens and arboretums are natural fits for the Museums for All program. How It Works To find a participating botanical garden, arboretum, or museum near you, go to the Museums For All website to search by museum name or location. Here are the steps for your visit: Find a participating museum near you by searching the Museum for All website. Visit any day during regular hours. Show your EBT Card and ID. Admission is $3 or less, often free, for four people per EBT card. Your SNAP EBT card is for identification purposes only, not for payment. Any admission costs must be paid for with other methods (cash, credit cards, etc.). However, you'll often find free museums with EBT. Enjoy! You can go to as many museums and as many times as you like. You can use your SNAP EBT card in other states. If you live in one state but want to visit a participating museum in another state, you can! The San Diego Botanical Garden participates in the Museums for All EBT program.
